Jordan James has confirmed that a potential move to Wrexham A.F.C. is no longer on the cards. The Wales midfielder said the opportunity to join the club ended during the summer of 2025.
Speaking about the speculation, James told reporters, "That ship sailed I think. It was on last year." He was linked with Wrexham before ultimately signing for Leicester City on loan.
James expresses satisfaction with Leicester City season
James reflected positively on his decision. "I'm glad I went to Leicester, I had such a good season - I enjoyed it so much," he said. His performances were recognised with the Championship Young Player of the Season award for the 2025-26 campaign.
Current loan situation at Wolverhampton Wanderers
The 22-year-old is now on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers from Rennes, a move that includes an option to buy. Wolves were relegated from the Premier League last season. James's comments come as Wrexham, managed by Phil Parkinson, sit 14th in the Championship with 10 points from eight games. Their recent form includes a 2-1 victory over Southampton, with Kieffer Moore scoring his third goal of the season. For a look at the squad list, visit our squad list.
