Anthony Patterson, a goalkeeper with an extensive career at Sunderland, has joined Wrexham A.F.C. for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old will be under contract until the end of the 2029-30 season, marking his third summer signing after Danny Imray and Ben Whiteman.

Patterson's journey at Sunderland spanned 17 years, during which he made 169 competitive appearances. He was a key figure in helping the club secure two play-off promotions to the Championship and Premier League. His experience includes playing in the play-off final win against Sheffield United at Wembley Stadium in 2025.
Patterson also had a loan spell with Millwall, where he played 16 matches across all competitions as they finished third in their league. On an international level, Patterson made his debut for the England Under-21s in June 2023 against Japan under head coach Lee Carsley.
