Wrexham A.F.C. is taking part in The Soccer Tournament, a winner-takes-all $1 million seven-a-side tournament, to promote the club and engage with its American fanbase. First-team coach Dave Jones spoke about the importance of continuing to promote Wrexham A.F.C. by participating in the tournament. This year saw the launch of the first ever mixed tournament, with Steven Fletcher leading the men's selection and Rosie Hughes leading Wrexham's women's selection. Although Wrexham Red Dragons were defeated in the group stage, a good crowd of Wrexham supporters were in attendance and got the chance to meet and greet the players. The club is heading back to the United States next month for a pre-season tour ahead of the 2026-27 Championship campaign. Jones says the promotional aspect of the trip is just as important as the competition. Wrexham will play friendlies against Liverpool, Leeds United, and Sunderland during the tour. The club has become a global sensation under Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac. Jones added that usually it is the privileged clubs, the Premier League clubs, that go out there to America, but Wrexham A.F.C. is now mixing it with the biggest clubs in the United Kingdom. The fans want to see Wrexham A.F.C. out there and it sets them up nicely going into the pre-season tour. The club's American fanbase is growing, with the majority of football shirts seen at the tournament being Wrexham shirts. Wrexham A.F.C.'s participation in The Soccer Tournament has been really good for the club, and the fans really appreciate the effort. The club's staff, including Jones and goalkeeper coach Aidan Davison, were present at the tournament, engaging with fans and building a strong relationship with them.
