Wrexham A.F.C. players have helped raise £10,000 for the Wrexham Miners Project through a charity challenge with Ifor Williams Trailers. The challenge involved a 80-metre reversing trial and a tipper trailer shoot-out, with defender Dan Scarr recording the fastest reversing time and midfielder Harry Ashfield winning the shooting contest. As part of the initiative, Ifor Williams Trailers donated £10,000 towards the Wrexham Miners Project, which is working to renovate and transform the former Superintendent's House next door into supported living accommodation. The donation was celebrated during the Wrexham Miners Project's annual general meeting, where Wrexham A.F.C. community director Humphrey Ker praised Ifor Williams Trailers for both the contribution and its long-standing support of the football club. Humphrey Ker stated that the funding from Ifor Williams is brilliant and that the company has a long-standing relationship with the football club. He also mentioned that the donation is indicative of the company's commitment to supporting the local community. Alex Lenden, show manager at Ifor Williams Trailers, explained that the £10,000 will go towards the cost of creating one of the bedrooms in the renovated house. He also stated that the project is really impressive and that it is important to preserve the mining heritage of the area. The charity challenge is a good way to work with Wrexham A.F.C. and allow the players to pick the charities they would like to support, and Ifor Williams Trailers have been supporting the club through sponsorship for about 10 years.
