Wrexham A.F.C. owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac will call a live match against Swansea City on March 13. The Hollywood stars have owned the Welsh football club for five years, and their exploits have been chronicled in the FX series Welcome to Wrexham. The club has had a remarkable turnaround since their ownership, securing league promotions and bringing in blue chip sponsors. Reynolds and Mac will co-host a live broadcast for the Wrexham A.F.C. vs. Swansea City match, live from the STōK Cae Ras. The special, called Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan, will feature unscripted match analysis and real-time reactions from Mac and Reynolds alongside Sky Sports presenter David Prutton. As with their decision to take over Wrexham five years ago, Reynolds and Mac said they genuinely have no idea how this is going to go, but they will give it their best. Neither of them have called a sporting event of any variety, let alone a sport they basically learned the rules of five years ago. The special will stream in the U.S. on Paramount+ and on Sky Sports in the U.K. Michael Williamson, CEO of Wrexham A.F.C., added that the club has strived to do things differently since Reynolds and Mac's ownership. The first-ever Live from Wrexham with Rob & Ryan continues on this theme and allows Wrexham fans globally yet another unique way of following their match with Swansea. Reynolds and Mac's ownership has delivered a global fanbase to what had been a small regional soccer team. The population of Wrexham is about 45,000, but the club's fanbase now extends far beyond the town. The match against Swansea City will be a significant test for Wrexham A.F.C., and Reynolds and Mac's live commentary will add an extra layer of excitement to the event.
