Wrexham A.F.C. has concluded its pre-season tour with a series of impressive performances, including a win and two narrow defeats against Premier League opposition. The Dragons' confidence was not affected by a run of poor results, as they proved themselves able to live with high-quality opposition. One new arrival on the US tour made a very impressive first impression - Danny Imray. Driving forwards, he had pace and directness, and an early turn which left two Sunderland players in his wake showed he had creativity and imagination too. Imray's ability to instantly spot the movement of an intelligent player suggests he possesses a level of sophistication. He doesn't fall into the lazy trope of just swinging high balls into the box, but instead looks to pick a player out, giving them a chance to shoot first time if they choose. Imray's game intelligence was also on display in his interactions with Ollie Rathbone, with the duo putting Sunderland's defenders into some difficulty. This was a sign of Imray's stamina and his ability to take up advanced positions, which allowed him to be ready to pounce when Rathbone triggered a press.
