Wrexham A.F.C. felt job done after Kieffer Moore's early goal, but a late equaliser from Rubin Colwill spoiled the party. Phil Parkinson complained about the added time, feeling it was more like four minutes. The Dragons had enough chances to kill the game off, but goalkeeper Nathan Trott denied several attempts. Moore put Wrexham A.F.C. ahead in the third minute, his seventh goal against his former club. He also skimmed the crossbar with a header and Callum Doyle's second-half drive thudded against a post. Wrexham A.F.C. had further opportunities to put the game beyond newly-promoted Cardiff, but goalkeeper Nathan Trott denied Doyle, Danny Imray and Sam Smith. Parkinson said: 'Some of our attacking play was of a very high standard and in many respects I'm pleased with the performance, but obviously when you concede late it hurts.' The disappointing start Wrexham's second season in the Championship after successive promotions in the last three campaigns comes on the heels of a first-round exit from the Carabao Cup at the hands of Middlesbrough on Aug. 7. League standing (final 2025 table -- new season not yet under way): 7th in Championship, 71 pts, 19W-14D-13L from 46 games, recent form DLWWL. Goals this season: 69 scored, 65 conceded (+4 goal difference). Title race: 24 points behind leaders Coventry.
