Wrexham A.F.C. CEO Michael Williamson has unveiled plans for a new training pavilion at Colliers Park, set to open ahead of the 2026-27 Championship season. The facility will provide a self-contained training environment, including a gym, changing rooms, and medical spaces, as the club pushes for Premier League promotion. Currently sitting 7th in the Championship with 71 points, Wrexham aims to close the 24-point gap to leaders Coventry City.
What’s included in the new pavilion?
The pavilion will feature a gym, changing rooms, physio and medical spaces, a kit room, dining area, and office space. Players currently use facilities at The Racecourse before training at Colliers Park, but the new building will centralize operations. Williamson called it a 'critical' upgrade for competing at the Championship level.
Why this matters for Wrexham’s ambitions
Williamson emphasized the pavilion’s role in player recruitment and performance. 'This allows us to have two top-end training pitches and everything we need for the squad,' he said. The club sees it as an interim step toward a permanent base, with Premier League standards as the ultimate goal. Wrexham has scored 69 goals this season while conceding 65, maintaining a +4 goal difference.
What’s next for the club?
While the pavilion is a major step, Williamson stressed the need for a long-term solution. 'Our ambitions will never stop,' he said. The club remains committed to finding a permanent training site as they prepare for a second Championship campaign. With recent form of DLWWL, Wrexham looks to build momentum ahead of next season.
