Wrexham A.F.C. continues to show its ambition in the transfer market as the Championship club is reportedly trying to sign Viking Stavanger centre-back Henik Falchener in a deal that would break the club’s transfer record. The 23-year-old Norwegian international has already had two offers turned down for him, with Wrexham's latest bid worth €9.5m, including a bonus. This would be the second time this summer that Wrexham's transfer record is broken. Wrexham's interest in Falchener is reportedly driven by his impressive performance in Norway, where he played 29 league games and scored six goals during the club's title-winning season in 2025. He also earned inclusion in the Norway squad for the 2026 World Cup, joining Erling Haaland, Martin Ødegaard, and Kristoffer Ajer as the Norwegians reached the quarterfinals. With several bids reportedly knocked back, it remains to be seen if Wrexham go back in for the Norwegian International. The club identifies a player and will continue to pursue them until the deal is completed. This summer is much more about quality than quantity as Parkinson looks to finally bring Premier League football to the Red Dragons. With the Championship season kicking off on Monday against rivals Cardiff City, Parkinson and the Wrexham hierarchy will want to secure their top target so they can hit the ground running following a good pre-season.
