Wrexham A.F.C. manager Phil Parkinson has admitted the club still has work to do in the summer transfer window, despite adding two players to their squad. The Red Dragons have signed wing-back Danny Imray from Crystal Palace and midfielder Ben Whiteman from Preston North End, but Parkinson says they need to strengthen further before the window closes on September 1. Wrexham's estimated $10 million outlay remains well below that of many of its divisional rivals, with Middlesbrough having already spent around $20 million this summer. Parkinson says the club is working tirelessly to bring in new players and give the squad a boost. The Red Dragons are currently 24 points behind leaders Coventry in the Championship title race and have scored 69 goals this season, conceding 65. They are 7th in the final 2025 table, with a recent form of DLWWL. Parkinson was also asked about the future of midfielder George Dobson, who has been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday. However, Parkinson dismissed suggestions that the club had already opened talks over a move, saying there had been no official offer for Dobson. The midfielder has been struggling with a couple of setbacks in preseason and needs some minutes to get back up to speed. Wrexham play Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup on Friday and then face Wigan on Monday, with Dobson expected to get some game time in the coming days.
