Jacques Ekomié's second-half equaliser earned Wrexham A.F.C. A point as the Championship meeting with Burnley finished one-one at the STōK Cae Ras.

Zeki Amdouni put Burnley ahead in the 26th minute, finishing after a pass from Lyle Ramazani. Ekomié levelled in the 55th minute, converting a chance created by Ibrahim Kabore, to keep Wrexham unbeaten in three matches.

Parkinson happy with the response

Before kick-off Phil Parkinson, the Wrexham manager, said his side would "return to the STōK Cae Ras tonight, looking to build on an encouraging week" following four points from two away trips. Wrexham had won three-nil at Millwall and drawn nil-nil at Swansea City in those games, keeping clean sheets in both.

Deadline-day signings Joe Worrall and Callum O'Hare were both involved in the build-up to the game. Worrall, who spent time on Burnley's books earlier in his career, arrived alongside O'Hare as Parkinson strengthened his squad before the window shut.

Burnley, relegated from the Premier League last season, had taken only two points from their opening five Championship matches and sat bottom of the table under manager Nicky Hayen going into the fixture. Jamie Vardy, the 39-year-old signed on a free transfer from Leicester City until the end of the season, was in contention to make his Burnley debut but was expected to be assessed for match fitness after a lack of recent competitive football.

The draw leaves Wrexham 14th in the Championship on seven points from six games, with a recent run of one win, three draws and one defeat. The club have scored seven goals and conceded five this season, six points behind leaders West Brom, and fans can check the full table on our standings page.

Cacace, Ben Sheaf, Sonny Revan and George Thomason remain sidelined, a list supporters can track on the injuries page, while Sheaf and Nathan Broadhead had been given late fitness checks before kick-off. Parkinson's side used a three-four-two-one shape, with Danny Imray and Jacques Ekomié operating as wing-backs and Callum O'Hare and Josh Windass playing behind Kieffer Moore.

Wrexham's next fixture is at home to Southampton on 19 September, a match supporters can add to their planning via the fixtures page, with the visitors currently sitting 13th in the Championship.
