Leicester City have emerged as a surprise suitor for Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, with the Nigeria international set to leave the Championship club before the transfer window closes. Okonkwo, 26, was Wrexham's starting keeper as they secured promotion to the Championship but has been left out of the squad for their league opener. The club's £8m signing Anthony Patterson started the match against Cardiff City, leaving Okonkwo without a place in the starting XI. French outlet Foot Mercato reports Leicester and Charlton Athletic are both interested in the goalkeeper, despite Leicester already signing two goalkeepers this summer. Okonkwo, who graduated from Arsenal's academy without playing for the Gunners, is in his final year of his contract and could be an affordable option for a League One side.
