Josh Adam's Journey
Josh Adam, a 22-year-old attacking midfielder from Glasgow who played for Celtic’s academy before moving to Manchester City in 2020, has found himself with limited opportunities at Wrexham. After leaving the club on a free transfer in September 2024 following a successful trial period, Adam's career took an interesting turn.
Adam made only two competitive appearances during his time at Wrexham - both in the EFL Trophy against Port Vale and Crewe Alexandra. His contract was not extended after the club’s promotion to the Championship, leading him to join Czech side Dynamo České Budějovice before moving on to Bohemian.
New Chapter with Bohemian
Bohemian, currently third in the League of Ireland Premier Division, has signed Adam until the end of the season. Alan Reynolds, the manager of Bohemian, expressed excitement about adding a player who can bring technical quality and attacking flair to their squad.
Reynolds stated, 'Josh is a really technical and attacking player, who we believe will add real attacking quality in the final third. He’s come through the academy systems at Celtic and Man City, can play the number 10 role and off the striker really well, and is a handful for defenders.'
Adam's move to Bohemian comes as Alan Reynolds' side looks to strengthen their squad ahead of crucial matches. The club will be working with Adam to get him up to speed with their playing style and fitness levels.
The signing also marks an interesting contrast in career paths, as Adam has moved from a high-profile English club like Manchester City to the League of Ireland Premier Division. His experience at Bohemian could prove valuable for both the player and the club.
