What happened?

Wrexham secured a record-breaking three successive promotions, climbing from the National League to the Championship. The Reds enjoyed a decent run in the FA Cup this season, beating Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the third round. The clash finished 3-3 after extra-time with Wrexham winning 4-3 on penalties.

Why it matters for Wrexham A.F.C.

Phil Parkinson's side also beat Ipswich Town in round four before being knocked out by Chelsea. The Blues triumphed 4-2 in a fifth round encounter at The Racecourse. Then Blues manager Liam Rosenior admitted his side were lucky to avoid an upset.

Round three games take place over the weekend of Saturday January 9, 2027. Fourth round fixtures are arranged over the weekend of Saturday February 13. Fifth round ties will be held over the weekend of Saturday March 6. The semi-finals are scheduled over the weekend of Saturday April 24 with the final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday May 22.
