Callum O'Hare is backing himself to end his Wrexham goal drought. The midfielder, who joined from Coventry City in the summer, has yet to score in eight Championship appearances this season.

O'Hare created opportunities but could not convert in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers. Wrexham had 23 attempts in that match but only managed a single shot on target, a lack of cutting edge that allowed Blackburn to punish them with two clinical finishes from Andri Guðjohnsen. That result on Saturday 24 October leaves the team with a recent form of two wins, one draw and two losses from their last five matches. O'Hare told the club's media.

"I'm getting the chances which I'm always going to get," O'Hare said. He stressed that he will not let the wait for a goal affect his performances and believes the breakthrough is inevitable if he keeps finding the right positions.

The 28-year-old has been used in various attacking roles by manager Phil Parkinson, often operating behind forwards Kieffer Moore and Sam Smith. Moore is the team's top scorer this season with five goals in twelve appearances, a tally that shows the need for others like O'Hare to contribute. Parkinson has rotated O'Hare across positions throughout his career, and the player emphasised he is happy to play wherever needed for the team.

This current struggle contrasts sharply with the team's previous outing, a 4-1 home win over Preston on Saturday 17 October where Wrexham converted their chances efficiently. That victory is part of an inconsistent run of form that sees the club 17th in the Championship table with 14 points from 12 games, having recorded three wins, five draws and four losses. The team has scored 15 goals and conceded 18, leaving them eleven points behind the league leaders.

The gap to the relegation zone remains manageable, but the pressure to pick up points is constant. The defeat at Ewood Park highlighted the team's need for greater ruthlessness in front of goal.

The next opportunity for O'Hare and his teammates comes quickly with an away trip to face Sheffield United on Friday 30 October. The Blades, recently relegated from the Premier League, are also struggling near the bottom of the division, setting up a key encounter for both sides. Wrexham will be looking to improve on a sequence of results that includes a 1-2 home loss to West Brom on Tuesday 13 October and a 1-1 draw at Derby on Saturday 10 October, before the win against Preston and the recent loss at Blackburn.
